Langano is a voice friend for learning a language. Here is what it keeps and why.

• Your voice is turned into text so the friend can answer. Audio is not stored; the text of what you said is kept as part of your progress.
• Your progress (words met, level, the friend you chose, kid profiles) is stored so the next conversation picks up where you left off.
• Your account (email, name, Google id if you sign in with Google) exists only to keep that progress across devices and to handle a paid plan. No password is stored when you sign in with Google.
• Shared lines: a line the friend says can be reused for other learners only after a check that removes anything personal (names, places, your own facts). Anything about you stays with you.
• Kids: a kid profile has its own words and friends and a stricter filter. Nothing from a kid profile is shared.
• Services used: OpenAI (writing replies), ElevenLabs (voice), TypeSafe Jev (decisions), Neo4j and Neon (storage), Vercel (hosting), Stripe (payments). They receive only what is needed for that task.
